Vocal recording
Record lead vocals, doubles and spoken parts in our booth while an engineer listens with you, sets levels and helps you capture takes you will still like tomorrow.

At Mushrumpmirami in Amsterdam East, we treat the voice as the element listeners notice first when something is off — not as an afterthought layered on at the end. Every booking starts with time for mic choice, headphone balance and a calm warm-up before we commit to keeper takes.
The booth is about 8 m²; the control room roughly 22 m² with sight lines through the glass. Bring a finished instrumental, a DAW session or just lyrics and a tempo — we adapt the workflow to what you already have. For a longer checklist, see prepare your vocal session in our guides.
Process
- 01
Briefing
You send the beat, lyrics and references; we load the session and hold the booth. We aim to reply within 1 business day on serious requests via contact.
- 02
Soundcheck
Compare mics, set pop filter and headphone mix, check gain staging. You hear yourself the way the record will sit, with room to ask for changes.
- 03
Tracking
Full passes first, then targeted overdubs. The engineer flags favourites so comping does not mean listening to everything twice.
- 04
Handoff
Comp chosen lines, basic edits and WAV stems aligned to your timeline; optional rough mix for home checks.
Who this service is for
Vocal recording suits solo artists, rappers, songwriters, voice-over talent and bands adding vocals after a band session. If you need a demo that imports cleanly into any DAW for labels or curators, you leave with files ready to drop in.
Guests from 16 years old are welcome with written consent from a parent or guardian. Younger only by prior agreement — call 020 737 1846 if you are unsure about supervision or timing.
Booth, control room and chain
The booth is small but fully treated so rap and pop stay controlled without feeling claustrophobic. In the control room we run 12 mic preamps and 2 pairs of nearfields for honest monitoring.
We do not pick a mic from habit: large-diaphragm condensers for detail, dynamics for loud passages, ribbons when top end needs softening. You compare on the same verse and we document the choice in the session.
How a typical session runs
Mornings often start in the lounge confirming tempo and key, then a short soundcheck. We track the song structure first — verses, hooks, bridges — and keep time for doubles, ad-libs or a second voice.
Breaks are part of the plan: tired voices rarely print useful takes. Half-day (four hours) and full-day (eight hours) blocks include comp time at the end; hourly bookings either reserve that window or we book a follow-up.
What to bring and what we supply
Bring instrumental WAV (guide vocal removed if possible), lyrics, reference tracks and your own IEMs if you rely on them. Only have an MP3 beat? Tell us upfront — a cleaner export from your project may be worth doing first.
We provide mics, cables, pop filter, headphones, water and a lyric stand. More detail lives in our prep guide. Mixing and mastering after tracking are quoted separately; they are not included in the hourly studio rate.
Delivery, formats and retention
Default delivery is 24-bit WAV at 48 kHz, aligned to your instrumental. Tracks are named clearly (lead, dub, adlib) so an external mixer can work immediately. On request we also export the full session or a rough mix with light compression for home listening.
Files go out via secure download or your drive. We keep a copy for 6 months, then delete according to our privacy policy. Always keep your own backup.
Rates and exclusions
All listed amounts include 21% VAT. Hourly studio time is €95; four hours €320; eight hours €580. Longer projects may require a 25% deposit under our terms and conditions.
| Length | Often enough for | Rate (incl. VAT) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 hour | Short VO or hook | €95 |
| 4 hours | Single with doubles | €320 |

Mix, master and next steps
Many artists track here and mix elsewhere; we deliver stems meant for that path. Prefer one stop? Mixing from €185 per song and mastering from €78 per track, each with 2 revision rounds as stated in your quote.
Use the contact form to say whether you need tracking only, tracking plus mix, or a full release chain — that keeps turnaround and budget aligned.

FAQ
How many songs fit in four hours?
For a three- to four-minute pop or rap single with lead, doubles and a few ad-libs, four hours usually covers setup and comp. Heavier arrangements or multiple languages often need a full day.
Can I bring my own DAW project?
Yes. Send stems or the project beforehand; we import and match clock. Mention sample rate and tempo in your contact message.
Do you offer pitch correction?
Light tuning on specific lines can happen in session if you want it; obvious autotune-style effects are planned separately so the natural take stays available.
What if I am ill on the day?
Tell us as early as you can. More than 7 days out we move the date at no charge; closer in, deposit rules in the terms apply.
Is parking available?
On-street spaces are limited; many clients use transit or bikes — racks are outside the door. See The studio is on Weesperzijde in Amsterdam East.
